LAKE GOLDSMITH OVER THE YEARS

Lake Goldsmith, west of Ballarat in Victoria is situated on 40 acres of land.  It is the oldest and largest steam preservation site in the Southern Hemisphere.

Over the years we have returned to Lake Goldsmith to experience the action and atmosphere that is at Lake Goldsmith.  From traction engines, steam engines, steam rollers, stationary engines and heaps more, you will be surprised at what is at Lake Goldsmith.

In this program we look at many different types of self propelled items of steam, along with some stationary and portable types too, many of which are of a rare nature - although most of the items that are at Lake Goldsmith do fit into that category.

Hear and see how a Cornish Beam engine works.  There is also an article of the bending of wood using steam.  Then how about the steam face shovel.  This is excellent and wonderful to view working at night.

Trucks.  Well on this program is the fascinating Clayton and Shuttleworth steam truck, the only one that is in operation in the world, and a Thornycroft truck - you don't see too many like this one either.

And last of all, the majesty of the Grand Parade that is held at Lake Goldsmith.  There is so much to see at this rally every time you visit and this rally is held twice a year.

This program is ideal for the steam enthusiast as well as those who just love to see and hear the stories about items from our past.
