AUSPLOUGH '97

The 44th World Ploughing Contest was held at Deakin University just out of Geelong in 1997, drawing competitors from all around the world.  This Competition is all about using the mouldboard plough and with modern tractors.  Hear how this all takes place with this excellent introduction into the ploughing.

We take a look at this ploughing competition, and then move over to the Rural Vintage Festival, where we see tractors from yesterday and the horse put to work ploughing, but not competing the same as they do in the competition arena.

The horse teams are fabulous to see working, but here there are also tractors like the Jelbart in operation in the field which is fabulous since you don't see  that many of them working these days.

See hay being lifted, see logs being lifted.  This is a magical program that is sure to thrill all members of the family as we look at history with some of those old tunes.
