SteamFest Sheffield Tasmania

STEAMFEST - SHEFFIELD - TASMANIA

In this program we go to Sheffield in Tasmania to their heritage rally, but before we get to the rally, we have a look at the town.

Now the town of Sheffield is quite a unique town set in a lush valley.  When you first come to the town, the first thing you notice is that many of the walls are covered with murals - and we take time in this program to take a look at some of them.

Steamfest is a fabulous event which takes place over three days, and is a smorgasbord of steam traction engines, a steam roller, a galloper, and a multitude of other exhibits including farm machinery and stationary engines.

There is also a segment on the beautiful heavy horses ploughing in the field.

Where this festival takes place they also have a train, and we take a magical ride into the native woodland along this railway line that passes through and around the rally site.  This is just wonderful.

This program is a treat for all the family.  It is a wonderful experience for viewing and interacting with Australia's Heritage in this wonderful Tasmanian town.
