DOWERIN - featuring 50 Years of Chamberlain

This program takes us to a place called Dowerin in the Western Australian wheat belt and the feature of this program is Chamberlain.

1999 marked the 50 years since the launch of the first Chamberlain tractor the 40K.

We follow the progress of the 40K and the tractors that followed, and look at how the tractors that came onto the market influenced the development and changes to the Chamberlain range.

With the line up of almost all the models that Chamberlain produced, this program has a good insight into this major Australian tractor manufacturer, from its beginnings in the mid 1940's right through to the mid '80's.

With archive photographs, along with current footage, this program is a much for enthusiasts of tractors.

One of the great things about the rallies in Western Australia is that they love to get out and play with their restored or partially restored equipment.

At this event at Dowerin, there is no hesitation to get out with their tractors to pull ploughs, and in the earth moving area, crawlers get out with "tumbling tommies", a rooter scooter, dozers, an Allis Chalmers grader and more.

In the line up of other tractors, there is the Farmall Regular, McCormick Deering 15-30, Benz Sendling plus others, and a small line up of stationary engines.

This comprehensive program is essential for all who interests in tractors, crawlers and the development of Australia's biggest tractor manufacturer, Chamberlain.  This program will be one to enjoy again and again.
