JONDARYAN WOOLSHED

Set on the Darling Downs just west of Toowoomba in Queensland at Jondaryan is a huge woolshed.  The size of this woolshed will amaze you and the size of this run that used to be is almost unbelievable.  

In this program we look at the history behind this woolshed and some of the other items which played a part in the history of the woolshed and surrounding areas on the Darling Downs, all with superb commentary and soundtrack.

This program shot at the Heritage Festival, show the Grand Parade, unmatched in Australia anywhere.  This Grand Parade displaying convict pulled ploughs to the horse and horse drawn vehicles, to tractors, crawlers, trucks, steam engines and a flock of sheep.  It is spectactular!

One of the interesting vehicles on this program is the Linn log wagon.   This is a half track used to haul logs out of the mountains in Queensland.  Interesting story.

Other articles in the program includes a high speed washer, one of the mod-cons in days gone by.  How about putting on a steel tyre on a wooden wheel?  OR how about making a whip?

See all of this and a whole lot more.  This program is a favourite.  It depicts so much about early Australian rural life.
