Kirwee Rally

KIRWEE RALLY

This program takes us to Kirwee which is just to the west of Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand for their rally to celebrate the 100 Years of the Tractor in New Zealand, and this was a huge rally  ... over 700 tractors turned out.

There are many tractors that are rare, unlike any that are in Australia.

See the International Mogul 12 - 25, Saunderson and Mills Universal Motor Model F, and McCormick Deering's, so many different ones over there.

There is Massey Harris and there are some great articles here with all these different models including a Parrett replica.  This person has made a scale one since the one that came to New Zealand no longer exists.

And just look at the Grand Parade ... do they turn it on.  Tractors seem to go on forever as there is just so much to see.

Then to top it off, the military restorers get out onto the arena with their ex-World War One and ex-World War Two trucks and guns and do they put on a show.  It is an awesome sight with the Brengun Carrier, the Ferrett, the field guns firing, the machine guns, the rocket launcher and how about the replica World War One armoured car.

This program has so much to see that you are going to be coming back to it again and again.  This is an excellent program.
